A New York wine warehouse is being investigated for these illegal practices

Chelsea Wine Storage has a list of allegations of having committed a number of wine 'offences'.

According to The Post, the New York State Liquor Authority accuses him of stealing and selling bottles, including $300,000 worth of Burgundy.

After spending more than 20 years in New York’s Meatpacking district, the company moved to the basement of a defunct T.G.I Fridays in Times Square in 2022. Both the management and the directional change unleashed a year of chaos with its customers, which has been accentuated in recent weeks as they have been unable to access their bottles.

The company has offered both open storage, where wine is kept in a warehouse for $10 a month per case, and closed locker storage, where customers pay a little more for a self-service locker in the storage unit that is supposedly always accessible. Now, however, customers cannot do what they agreed to do: access their collections whenever they want, after weeks of unanswered calls and emails.

The owners, Amelia and Michael Gancarz, blame staff shortages and problems with the company’s landlord, Delshah Capital, which sued the couple in November for not paying rent for the storage facility, the wine shop and their basement lounge.
