In a recent interview published by Delish, Ethan Taylor, who once worked as Justin Bieber’s personal chef, revealed that the singer liked to eat his favourite pasta after every concert. The ‘chef to the stars’ – who has also cooked for celebrities such as Eddie Murphy, Frank Ocean and Diddy – explained that Bieber’s favourite dish is a very simple pasta: Cacio e Pepe. A very easy to prepare recipe that only needs 5 ingredients.

In addition, Taylor also told us when she first cooked the singer that pasta. She did it in 2010, when Bieber was recording his first hit, Baby, at the home of Tricky Stewart, the song’s producer. At the time, Ethan was Stewart’s chef. From that moment on, Justin fell in love with the recipe. In fact, the chef also prepared this pasta when the singer received visits from friends such as Drake, Kylie Jenner or Jaden Smith.

So if you too would like to learn how to make Ethan Taylor’s recipe, take note of this simple steps to follow.

Justin Bieber’s favourite Cacio e Pepe pasta recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 g spaghetti
  • 200 g grated pecorino cheese (although Taylor also adds grated Parmesan)
  • black pepper
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt

Preparation:

  • First boil the pasta. Reserve one cup of the water for later.
  • While the pasta is boiling, toast the black peppercorns in a frying pan over medium heat. Once toasted, grind them to a powder.
  • Put the ground pepper in a bowl and add the grated pecorino and parmesan cheese. Mix the pepper and cheese together, then gradually add the pasta water, until it resembles a puree.
  • When the pasta is ready, pour it into a frying pan with the heat turned off. Then add the cheese paste and pepper directly and stir to mix well. With the heat of the freshly cooked spaghetti, the pasta will melt into a creamy sauce. Add pasta water if you want to thicken it a little.
  • You can garnish the dish with more cheese and enjoy.
