If you thought that sushi was Rosalía’s favorite dish, you were wrong. The Catalan artist recently revealed on Instagram what her favorite food was and it is Fufu and egusi soup, a traditional recipe of African cuisine, especially from the central region. We show you what ingredients it contains and how Rosalía’s favorite food is prepared.

The Despechá singer accompanied her answer with a photo of the dish, in which she could see some of the ingredients of which the African recipe is composed. First of all, fufu is a typical product of the African continent, where it is considered a staple food. It is a paste made with cassava or ripe plantain, although it can also be made with other tubers, such as yam or cassava. Originally from Ghana, it is also widespread in other countries such as Nigeria or Ivory Coast, and has even reached Spain. It serves as an accompaniment to the main meal, something like bread or mashed potatoes.

On the other hand, egusi soup is originally from Nigeria and it is a vegetable soup, whose main ingredient is pumpkin seeds or egusi melon. These are rich in protein and carbohydrates.

In addition, the recipe also contains palm oil, onions, green leafy vegetables, chili peppers and ground egusi. Its texture is thick and beef, fish or shrimp can also be added.
