At Tapas we love to try the most impossible gastronomic combinations, and if they include traditional ingredients, we go for it. This is the case of the new Christmas proposal of Dulces El Beato. A couple of years ago it surprised us by launching the chocorrezno, a chocolate bar with crispy torreznos de Soria. Although it raised as many passions as criticisms, the truth is that the product has been a success, to the point that the brand has ventured with two new and original products for this Christmas.

They are the traditional versions of two classic Christmas sweets: polvorón and turrón. On this occasion, El Beato has renamed them Polvorrezno and Turrezno. As the name suggests, they combine the traditional recipe with the brand’s characteristic touch: torreznos from Soria. In the case of the polvorón, as indicated on its website, it has the perfect amount of torrezno to please everyone; and mixes the typical softness of a polvorón with the salty crunchiness of the torrezno.

Turrezno, on the other hand, does not have much more mystery. It is a gourmet artisan nougat that includes the best chocolate (there is white, milk and black) and almond praline with crunchy torreznos de Soria. These are defatted at low temperature for a long time on a bed of absorbent paper, to transform them into 100% crunchy.

The 200 g box of polvorreznos costs 7.5 €, while each 300 g Turrezno tablet is priced at 12 €. They can be purchased through its website.
