Actor Adam Sandler is promoting his upcoming movie, Spaceman, which premieres on Netflix on March 1. During the presentation, some journalists wanted to know what snack he would take with him into space, in reference to his character in the movie. To the surprise of those present, Adam Sandler commented that his chocolate bar of choice would be the Marathon, an elongated chocolate and caramel bar that, paradoxically, has been discontinued for more than 43 years.

“Did you ever have one of those? They don’t make them anymore. Maybe they only make a few,” the actor detailed, while joking about the possibility of having a “secret factory.” “No, I don’t. Maybe I do. I’m Sandler, for God’s sake, I can get a Marathon bar.”

Few will probably remember the Marathon chocolate bars, since they were only on sale from 1973 to 1981. These Mars brand bars combined chocolate and caramel and were shaped like a braid. There are no clear reasons for their withdrawal from the market. Although it has been more than four decades since they ceased to exist, it seems that actor Adam Sandler has not forgotten his favorite chocolate bars. The Daily Meal suggests an alternative that is quite similar: Cadbury‘s Curly Wurly bars.
