There is nothing more striking in the kitchen than an original trompe l’oeil. And in the last few weeks, one of the recipes of this style that has been gaining momentum are the so-called Sugar Cookie French Fries, or what is the same, the cookie fries. If you are a French fries lover and you also like cookies, what can go wrong if we join these two elaborations in one? The result is a sweet and crunchy snack, but above all surprising. Take note!
How to prepare Sugar Cookie French Fries
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Meanwhile, line two baking trays with parchment paper.
- In a mixer ford, mix the butter and sugar and beat well until blended.
- Then add the egg and continue beating. Finally, add the vanilla along with the flour, baking powder and salt. Beat until the dough is well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 2 balls and flatten. Reserve in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and form a rectangle. Cut strips in the shape of what will be the fries (cut the strips in half so they are not too long).
- Sprinkle the strips with sugar, place them on a tray and refrigerate them for another hour.
- Then bake these fried cookies for about 15 minutes. When you see the edges start to brown, remove from the oven and let them cool.
- You can serve the fries with the sweet sauces of your choice.
